Terrell Allen

Director

Terrell Allen is a Virginia Beach native and Hall of Fame basketball player at Cape Henry Collegiate School. After graduating from Cape Henry, he attended Central Connecticut State University where he played all four years for their basketball program at the Division One level. After graduating from CCSU, Terrell began his coaching career at Hampden-Sydney College (NCAA Division III) in Farmville, VA during the 2014-2015 season. During this time, Terrell also coached for his former AAU program, Boo Williams, which is a Nike Elite Youth Basketball League team. Terrell coached various players who have gone on to high major NCAA Division I basketball programs. After two seasons with Boo Williams, Terrell spent a year in Wuxi, China (2016-2017) as the Basketball Program Director where he helped develop their new basketball program. He worked with elementary and middle school students, teaching the game of basketball and was able to travel to seven different countries as well. After returning to America, Terrell landed a position as the Director of Youth Basketball Programming at The Skill Factory in Atlanta, GA. During this time, Terrell was able to work with various college, high school, and various NBA players in the Atlanta area.

Matt Irving

Matt Irving

Matt is a professional basketball trainer that was born and raised in the Tidewater area. He began his basketball training in high school and continued through college while attending Hampden-Sydney College where he worked as the Men’s Basketball Team’s manager. After college, Matt moved to Los Angeles where he landed an internship with well established NBA Skill Development Trainer, Drew Hanlen. Drew has worked with NBA Players such as Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Meyers Leonard (Miami Heat) and Brad Beal (Washington Wizards). Matt brings 6-plus years of experience working with NBA, Overseas, and College basketball players. He looks forward to bringing his talents back home to the Tidewater area and helping kids make their dreams a reality.

Damon Thornton

Damon Thornton

Damon is a Hampton Roads native that grew up in Norfolk, VA and played high school basketball at Atlantic Shores Christian School. After a great career he played his collegiate basketball at North Carolina State University. As a freshman he made the ACC All-Freshman Team. After a successful career at NC State, Damon played 10 season professionally in Europe, Asia, and South America. Damon most recently comes to us from New York City where he was a basketball trainer at Fastbreak Sports, one of the largest youth basketball programs in New York. 

Andrew Dowell

Andrew Dowell

After growing up in Baltimore, Andrew began his college basketball career at the College of Coastal Georgia where he played seasons and later transferred to Southern Wesleyan University where he finished his career. In 2017 Andrew began working at The-Skill-Factory (TSF) in Atlanta, Georgia. While working at TSF Andrew served in a hybrid roll consisting of coaching, training, scouting, and strength and conditioning. Andrew was apart of a TSF Prep/Post Grad group that has been nationally recognized as one of the top Post Grad/Prep programs in the nation year in and year out. Andrew was also apart of multiple TSF NBA Pre-Draft staffs that has placed over 50+ players in the NBA over the last few years.

Jay’von “Jay” Jackson

Jay is a Old Dominion University student where he is a major in Health & Physical Education & minor in coaching. Jay is a Boy’s Basketball Coach at Norfolk Collegiate, returning for his 3rd year. He has a strong passion for coaching/training and very excited to continue to purse his dreams!

Terris Sanders

Terris Sanders

Terris is a graduating Senior at The Illustrious Hampton University focusing on Sport Management. Terris has worked with the Binghamton Bulldogs semi-professional team, the SUNY Broome Community College Men’s Basketball team, countless camps in his hometown of Binghamton, NY and is currently an intern with the Hampton University Men’s Basketball team, focusing on skill development. Outside of basketball Terris works as a substitute teacher with Hampton City Schools and in the past worked as an aide to adults with special needs. Terris brings enthusiasm, patience, and an affable personality to The Wave Basketball Club.

Daniel Diaz

Daniel Diaz

Coach Daniel Diaz graduated from James Madison University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. Originally from Northern Virginia, Daniel has been a strength and conditioning/performance coach since graduating college. Through these past few years, he has trained athletes of all ages, skill levels, and sports. He has built great relationships and learned from numerous high level coaches nationwide from attending training camps for the Washington Wizards and Team USA, as well as countless basketball coaching conferences and academies through the years. Coach Diaz is also currently an assistant coach for the Catholic High School Varsity Boys Basketball Team and is a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Renaissance Academy.

Alyshia Allison

Alyshia Allison

Alyshia is a former player of the Campbell University Women’s Basketball team. During her time at Campbell, she appeared in 79 games for the Camels. As team captain, Alyshia led the team to an overall 23-13 winning season in her senior year; which ties the most wins in Campbell Women’s Basketball history. Her vital role led the camels to make an appearance in the Big South Conference finals and the semifinal of the Women’s Basketball Invitational. At Campbell, Alyshia graduated with an undergraduate degree in Sport Management with minors in both Business Administration and Marketing. Continually seeking development in her craft, she is currently working towards her masters in Sport Management at Old Dominion University.
